Working for the nations largest retailer is not easy!!

I`ve been with them now for about 2 yrs, this time. I took about 4 yrs to do some soul searching and tried to better myself at THE OHIO CENTER FOR BROADCASTING, it didn't work out!! It`s all good though.. All in all I have worked for them for 8 yrs(not counting the 4 yrs off) been in management the whole nine yards and this "mart" will never cease to amaze me!!! They do things to their associates purposely to piss them off.
Several years ago I went through their"Management training program" and thought I was on my way, but that lasted 2 weeks. Once I got into management and seen some of their policies(which they pick and choose from.) I quickly found the door on my own!! Here is an example and the reason I quit back then....I worked with another manager who chewed, he would leave his spit cup sitting everywhere, including next to food items. When I complained, I was told to mind my own business, about two weeks went by and an associate complained that another associate was chewing on the sales floor! After an investigation that would really put the FBI to shame, that associate was to be fired!!! Guess who they wanted to fire this person?
Yep, Me!!! When I refused based on the fact that it was "OK" for a manager to do this but not for an associate, I was told managers have a different set of rules they go by, to fire the associate right away or I would be fired, so I told my boss what I thought of him.... and I quit!!! Interesting huh? These people are more ruthless than some members of the Mob!
Every year right after the Christmas season they find reasons to ruin peoples lives by firing them or laying them off indefinitely for no reason,they call it silly season..... and they get away with it even to this day! I could tell you countless stories about shady and cruel business practices and maybe i will in other blogs but for now, I`m still there, just stocking shelves now, minding my own business and staying out of their way until another way to put food on the table comes along!!!!
